School Safety

The School Safety Program for the City of Colorado Springs was adopted by City Council in 1998. This program is a comprehensive and proactive program that coordinates with area school districts, parents, students and the City to provide for the safety of children and motorist.

Colorado Springs, School Safety Program

The City’s liaison works closely with the school districts to develop direct communication regarding the safety of both the children and the city motorist. This program has allowed the City to install school flashers, new visible school area signage, and provide additional traffic controls.
